Our one-year training course for hairdressers begins with the New Zealand Certificate in Hairdressing Salon Support (Level 3).

Graduates will also gain knowledge and skills in the fundamentals of colouring, highlighting and lowlighting as well as essential employment skills in consultation, safe and professional work practice, reception duties, sales and displays.

Go from complete novice to technical level, capable of earning your place in a successful salon – or qualifying for entry to the Emerging Stylist Level 4.

  • Fulltime hours

  • Monday to Thursday 9am to 4pm, Fridays 9am to 1pm (half-day self-directed learning on Fridays)

Entry requirements

  • Entry is open to beginners and all applicants are considered however you must be:

    • Able to demonstrate a basic understanding of spoken and written English 

  • It is also advisable that applicants have completed NCEA Level 1
