Make-Up Art Technology
This full time course is for those wanting to become professional hair and make-up artists.
The School of Make-up Art Technology, offers the most widely recognised qualifications in the country. We are exclusively registered with International Qualification Award Bodies (City & Guilds & ITEC) ensuring that the Diploma’s you receive are recognised worldwide. Our participation in The New Zealand Body Art Awards in 2006 & 2007, has seen our talented students take a range of awards and trophies in various professional categories for Make-Up Art Technology, and cement our college as one New Zealand’s best colleges for Professional make-up art technology.
Graduates of this course can achieve units leading towards the prestigious City & Guilds ‘Diploma in Hairdressing’ (achievable upon completion of hairdressing – year two). You will also build an extensive 30 character photographic portfolio and achieve the highest internationally recognized qualification award offered in New Zealand for Make-up artistry., ‘ITEC-Diploma in Fashion, film and television make-up’. Our reputation for high standards ensures that our students receive lots of work opportunities in theatre, fashion shows, and recently a hollywood movie.

Working as a make-up artist, Fashion & photographic make-up, T V & Film make-up application, Theatrical & character make-up

- Application of false eyelashes, Special effects make-up
30 character photographic portfolio and progressive shots include:

High Fashion & Catwalk, Natural Day & Special, Occasion, Bridal, Black and White/ Colour Photographic, Ballet & Dance make-up, Ageing, pantomime character, an animal, character using prosthetics, character with cuts, bruises and scars, oriental make-up, period make-up x 5, crepe hair work - beard moustache, stubble, fantasy & fairytale make-up, four special effects. History of hair design Shampooing, treatments & tools of hairdressing trade Wig fitting and maintenance. Dress long hair for simple & complex styles Blow dry hair for simple & complex styles Set hair for simple & complex styles Finger wave moulding
